Guest Blogger and a What's Wrong with This?

Today, I am the guest writer for police officer and blogger extraordinaire Momma Fargo at her site: The Boogie Man is My Friend.

She graciously allowed me to speak to her audience about a topic that is very close to my heart: crime and um... mullet hairstyles.

Ok, maybe I like talking about crime and just have hair envy.

Momma Fargo's blog is full of wit and wisdom--with a healthy dose of humor.  In a recent post entitled Port-a-Potty Party, she offers a glimpse into the the type of strange calls that law enforcement professionals are asked to regularly resolve.

In any event, Momma Fargo is a very entertaining writer, and it may take her a few weeks to reclaim the followers she will lose by allowing me to guest blog.

I had just one quick item for today...

Radio guy Neal Boortz posted this graphic from a WGN (Chicago) news show to his site a few days ago.

Do you know what is wrong with the image?

I confess, it took me longer than it should have to spot the problem.

Happy weekend to all.

I saw this initially here.

You see much more of this when you actually live over there. I once heard that an American approached the check-out counter and asked the clerk to please tell him how much the item cost "in real money". Glad to see you are alive, well, and circulating, SD! EFH

Dude.
Wrong.
Continent.

And we wonder why everyone in the world call us "Stupid Americans"

Stina Lindenblatt said...

Yep, that's South America not Africa. And South Africa isn't a continent to begin with.

*giggles* It's scary how ridiculous our 'news' can be sometimes.

Thanks for the laugh. Hopping over to your guest post now! :)

Slamdunk:
I thought that continent looked a bit out of place...
When did we move Africa across the bloody Atlantic, anyway?
And won't that impact those with frequent flyer miles?

(I'm definitely NOT getting all my memos)

Will check out Momma Fargo.

Have a great weekend, all.

OK I confess I had to read the comments to read what was wrong with that picture! Darn, now I wish I had spotted it myself.

I thought is said South Africa but the resolution was really fuzzy so I couldn't be sure. When I went to the initial post I could see it better. Guess the person responsible for the graphic skipped geography in school the day they covered the southern hemisphere...and the names of the continents.

Herding Cats said...

Oh dear, South America, South Africa - same difference! Ha, right!

Not like we don't know the USA is US...

I don't follow sports, but to mistake the continent of Africa with South America... ? Gee... I might look into being a news-editor!!!

The newsman's hair... wow... wish I had some of it... the top stuff, lol.

No fair. I'm staring at this guy's face, thinking "His forehead's too big! His eyes have been Photoshopped! The background's too fuzzy!"

Ya know how long it took me??!

Maybe we need better geography in school! And beyond.

Hahaha. Wow, you can't get more insular than that. What were they thinking?

Despite my pathetic knowledge of geography I was able to spot the error *phew*

Hahaha, that's funny!! (the pic)

I way over-examined the picture. I thought it was something about the "Low" being 49 degrees and the actual temperature being 48. Time for more coffee! :) Mullets??? I'm so there.

I can't believe that says South AFRICA! (BTW, I'm a military brat... wanted to say "hi" to a fellow 'brat.') :)
