Tuber of the Week #33: Sleepless Nights?

The kids are eagerly anticipating the children's movie Toy Story 3 from Disney-Pixar due out this summer.

Our little ones must have watched the first Toy Story and Toy Story II hundreds of times.

Since the original was released in 1995, it is funny to think that fans who are excited about the new adventure are far from being children anymore--many being more than 20 years old now.

I can understand why it took so long to get the third sequel completed--with a big-name cast that includes Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles, and Whoopi Goldberg, scheduling conflicts (not to mention a complete script rewrite) must have been the norm.

In any event, the trailer for Toy Story 3 looks funny.

Personally, I thought the short movies that accompany the Pixar creations have been very well done.  Knick Knack and For the Birds were hilarious, but my favorite is entitled Lifted that accompanied the movie Ratatouille

After viewing the Lifted short again (below), I realized that this may explain why I never seem to feel rested after a night's sleep:

Or, then again, I can just continue to blame my sleepiness on our three little people and the regular 3 am wake-ups.

Can't watch the video here at work but I will admit we're looking forward to Toy Story 3. My daughters have out grown it a bit but my 3 year old nephew can not get enough of Woody and Buzz.

Today's guest bloggers are Lisa and Laura Roecker!

Thanks for sharing this. I didn't know that they're releasing Toy Story 3 this summer. By the way Disney-Pixar makes great movies. I just love them...and I'm in my forties! (an over-age kid? hahaha).

Dear Slamdunk,
My gosh! And here I thought I needed curtains against a street lamp! Those venetian blinds don't work.

Now I know I need to invest in good-quality aluminum foil.

Have a restful weekend,
Ann T.

Have fun when the new Toy Story comes out.

Oh yes, the Toy Story 3 movie is big news at our house too. I'd like to blame my sleeplessness on kids too. It's at least partially true.

My toddler is very excited about Toy Story 3 and I couldn't figure out why because he's never seen either of the first two movies. I found my answer in the bathroom the other day: Woody and Buzz Lightyear are on his Pull-ups!

I like antics, it wakes up the wit cells. Fantasy is a of the utmost importance ingredient in living, it's a technique of looking at freshness with the aid the infernal end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to chortle at subsistence's realities.

My oldest is 21 and he LOVED Toy Story 1 and 2. My friend and I used to call my son Woody (because of his seriousness) and her son Buzz (because of his naivity) and to this day we see the toys in the store and think our boys when they were little!!! Those movies are the BEST and I can't wait to take my littler kids to see toy story 3. So much fun... so little time!

LOL! That was hilarious! I love the mischievous and naughty sense of humour in the Pixar movies - I think they are far better than Disney movies, which tend to be just too cutesy and saccharine.

@ Anonymous: Sorry it looks like the owner of the link had to remove it for copyright reasons. I'd search for "Lifted" on the various video sights and I imagine you'll eventually find it.
