Out

A couple of weeks ago, my father was hospitalized unexpectedly in Texas.

Since then, the old Marine has been waiting on a few issues to be resolved so that his doctors could perform heart surgery--which they were able to do today.

Dad is conscious and is evidently ordering the staff to remove all of "these (insert string of curse words) tubes."

Also, my laptop has decided to stop working today, and is headed to the repair shop.

As a result, I'll be away from blogging for a little while...

Tell my brother to Improve, Adapt and Overcome, dammit! He's a Marine! (yeah, I twisted the quote a bit)

hopefully it'll make him smile just a bit. and for you, who's not a Marine, sending you warm thoughts for his quick recovery. Just remember, a Marine isn't happy unless he's complaining. :)

I do hope your father fully recovers.

My father was known to to attempt, and at one point succeeded in, removing his own tubes.

But since he's barking orders to the "plebes", it would appear that HE has the situation well-in-hand.

We'll be saying some prayers.
(doesn't hurt, after all)

Semper Fi, you hard-charger!

I love old Marines! I'm so glad he is recovering! Have you seen the commercial - think it's for Kleenex or something - where the drill seargent is a psycologist. Its my fave. Hugs to your Dad.

My notebook is in the shop as well. Having a hard time doing the desktop routine, not really conducive to writing, for me anyway. Guess I think I need to be able to travel at any momnet... :}
