Caylee Anthony in the News

Excellent blogger Maxi has recently been discussing the Caylee Anthony death case; a story that has risen to the front pages of the news this week as Casey Anthony's murder trial began in Florida.

I wrote a couple of posts on the case way back when., and am still curious in learning more about, Ray Kronk, the man who pointed police to the little girl's remains.

Ms. Anthony's defense attorney, Jose Baez, offered his opinion of Mr. Kronk's involvement:

...During his two-hour opening statement, Baez also cast doubt on Roy Kronk, the meter reader who found Caylee's skeletal remains in December 2008, alleging that he found the remains in an unknown location months earlier and moved them to where they would be found by authorities in an attempt to cash in on the high-profile case.

"He thought he had himself a lottery ticket," Baez said.

"You will not be able to trust a thing having to do with Mr. Kronk, because he had control of Caylee's remains, obviously, for several months," Baez said. "Where he found her we do not know. We may never know, because the police never investigated him."

Kronk's attorney, David Evans, denied the allegations in a statement. "To the extent that the defense is stating that Mr. Kronk somehow had possession of and had something to do with the disposition of the remains of Caylee Anthony, those statements are absolutely false," Evans said.

With Ms. Anthony's defense that her daughter accidentally drowned in the family pool and her parents covered up the incident, the evidence and testimony in this sad case will be evaluated daily in the courtroom.

Stay tuned for more on Mr. Kronk's actions.

I read an article in the paper this morning about this case. My only thought right now is... if Caylee had already drowned in a pool "accidentally," why was her mouth and nose covered in duct tape? Or did I get a fact or something wrong? And why not call 911? People cover up crimes, but not usually accidents. Something doesn't add up. I smell BS.

The whole thing repulses me to no end. That poor baby didn't deserve to be with any of the monsters that did this. I don't know who specifically is to blame, but it sure sounds like mom.

This is such a sad case. If it were an accident, why would they cover it up? What mama would not make a proper resting place for her baby?

Good observation Cricket.

On the first day of the trial a reporter from WKMG said they, all the media, have investigated Kronk.

I think he was looking for money and attention.

Thank you for the support Slam.

I don't understand why if it was an accident, they didn't just tell the truth? The truth will set you free, it may suck but its better than lying.

Had no knowledge of what you provided about Ray Kronk. If true, the complexities of the case go out the window... if true, that the meter reader man had "control" of Caylee's body,"early on", it alone raises reasonable doubt I think that Caylee's mom, might not have put the "duct tape over her nose and mouth".

This news is most thought provoking!

Thanks Slam...

Those weren't the only 911 calls. Roy Kronk made 4 from August 11-December 11. 2008. He has some serious 'splainin' to do. If you haven't heard them, google it.
