Tuber of the Week #43: Dream Proposal

Do women and men think about things differently?

Um...well...ok, a definite "yes" to that one:

The Mrs. and I both got a laugh out of the commercial.

Though my execution of the marriage proposal (on a Valentine's Day carriage ride through big city where I used to live) was much better than Mr. "Go Tigers" in the video, the Mrs. is still critical of my overall engagement request.

The question: "What took you so long?" is her usual starting point.

Ha, yes. That Mars/Venus thing is ever present. Funny clip. :)

The guy in that commercial is a tool, but then so is the chick.

When you picture something in your head so specifically, you're bound to be disappointed.

The point is the rest of your life, right?

You took too long!

My engagement wasn't over-the-top. I sort of made him do it. He said something sweet like, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you." I said, "Really? Let's get engaged!"

Wow, you are a big softie over there! I'm not sure all that "romance" would swoon me anymore, probably all the attention would embarrass me. We were sitting in my husband's car when he proposed. :O)

Ahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! This makes me extra glad my husband is not a sports fan!

He proposed at the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Ahhhh...

Haha that's really funny! Poor girl. However, I feel that it us probably pretty scary to ask someone to spend the rest of their life with you so I do have some appreciation for it. I'm kinda pre annoyed at my BF because I know if we do get engaged, there's no way I won't be able to tell beforehand so it will lose the surprise element! He's horrible at them like when he was in NYC for work on my birthday he sent me flowers which came at lunch to my office so when I was away from my desk on lunch and called him the first thing he asked was did u get anything yet?? Ha and it sucks bc I can't be mad at someone for sweetly sending me flowers but couldn't he just wait and let it go full circle, he knows I would have called to thank him! Again, I recognize these are champagne problems and shouldn't really complain :)

That's so funny. I can't even remember how my husband proposed to me...(I'm not really a romantic) maybe he didn't. I think I picked out my own engagement ring because I wanted to make sure it would fit into my life (rings that are too large will sometimes mess with my typing or snag my clothes). It probably went down like this, "You wanna marry me? Okay, answer me this first, you wanna have kids? No, okay, than I say yes..." (Keep in mind we already had two...one each.) If that was me in the commercial, I'd have said, "Yeah, sure, honey, now sit down, I'm watching the game." I think I've said too much.

You went over the tops...yay for your wife, even if it took you a long time to get there! I can't say my proposal was at all romantic...but guess that wasn't too important afterall...celebrating 29 years on Monday!

HA! We picked out the ring together and he asked me in the car. :) Our first kiss was in a car so it was fitting.

I just had my 8 year annaversary! So the timming of this was great. Mr T-rex and I were young, I was 17 when he asked me to marry him. He put the ring in an Arby's sandwich, I was working there at the time. He wrote "will you marry me?" on a napkin and asked me what was wrong with his food. I told him the guys in the back were messing with him. He then opened it up and asked again what was wrong with it. This time I looked at it. I then said "DUH!" And I am sure I rolled my eyes at how much of a dork he was. LOL I love that man!
