I have been holding this post for awhile, and needed to publish it.
As such, I'll be back with the series on Nikki LaDue January next week.

Missing person Marie Hanson's remains were found by authorities on October 9, 2011.
Her body and jewelry were located buried in Skamania County, WA--about 1/2 mile from where she was last camped at the Rainbow Gathering's annual event.
Initial information from the autopsy was inconclusive as to a cause of death, and full toxicology reports were not available yet.
As one would expect, determining how the woman died is essential in clarifying the reported suspicious behaviors of the man and his girlfriend that Ms. Hanson attended the event with.
Because, if authorities cannot categorize the death as a crime, it will likely be closed (pending any additional information) and forgotten--similar to what was done in the missing person and then death case of Sgt. Patrick Rust.
So, though the "missing person" portion of the case has ended, the family's pain continues as they wonder whether someone got away with murder.

Her poor family.
Sometimes all answers get you is more questions. Then the dreaded word "inconclusive" gets you nothing. Hopefully something will come to light.
Hiya .. yes - really dreadful for the family - and I do hope some leads are found ...
Not a happy time especially now - reminds us how lucky we are .. Hilary
This has to be so frustrating, not knowing what happened or if foul play was involved. How many cases involve the "inconclusive" word .... too many.
I feel bad for the family members of such people who go missing and then their remains are found without a definite reason for their death.
at least they know...now hopefully they will get some justice you know...
That is so sad. I hope they are able to bring the killer to justice.
Not knowing would be so hard.
This is so sad when things like this happen and the family is left with so many questions.
When you say buried do you mean deep in the woods or actually under ground.
You know what this reminds me of is Christine Walters. They never found her at all.
Thank you for the update. Her family is in my prayers. It will be a difficult Christmas without Marie for them.
Very tragic! I had held onto hope for Marie Hanson...
You know something ... I don't know how you find out about so many stories like this ... you amaze me ... your dedication is unreal. you need to be a common voice of a major publication and if I have ever had enough clout to make that offer i would!
I can always count on you for my daily dose of mystery. It is very sad about this lady though.
This case makes one wonder how many people get away with murder.
I hadn't heard about this part of the story yet... interesting. Hope they make the right decision.
How can they close the case if the cause of death is undetermined? The woman didn't bury herself. Maybe they have no leads, but the case shouldn't be closed. Even if she died a natural death and her friends buried her, the family needs to know.
I hope this will help them discover the truth. So sad.
Please clarify. Do you mean found in the woods of WA or found "buried" in the woods of WA? Thanks,
@ Anonymous: Good point that I should have clarified earlier. "Buried" was not the correct term here. I should have used partially covered--authorities did not release much on this aspect of the case, but she was not buried in the traditional sense.
My error--thanks for the catch.
Wοw, that's what I was searching for, what a information! existing here at this webpage, thanks admin of this website.
